Introduction
What klerc is, who it's for, and how the pieces fit together.
klerc is the operating system for service businesses. It puts your CRM, pipelines, customer inbox, automation, tasks, AI and reporting in one workspace, on one data model and behind one login. Advisors, brokers, clinics, agencies and consultancies run on it: any business whose work is a pipeline of people and promises.
This documentation covers the console at console.klerc.co and the klerc API. If you're new, read this page, then the Quickstart and Core concepts.
How klerc is organised#
The console groups everything into a handful of areas. Each one has its own section in these docs.
| Area | What it does | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Objects and records | Your data model — people, companies and the objects you design, such as policies, patients or projects | Objects and fields |
| Flows | Kanban pipelines over any object, with stage rules and history | Pipelines |
| Inbox | WhatsApp, email, social DMs, SMS and website chat in one threaded inbox | The inbox |
| Automation | Workflows, forms and chatbots that create and move records | Workflows |
| Work | Tasks, notes, calendars and internal team chat | Tasks and notes |
| AI | Molly, the assistant, and configurable AI agents | Molly |
| Admin | Roles, teams, feature toggles and audit logs | Roles and permissions |
| Developers | The REST API and nearly 1,000 app integrations | API overview |
One data model#
Every module reads and writes the same records. Take a motor policy:
- it sits as a card on the Policy Renewal board;
- it has tasks and notes attached, and a history of every stage it passed through;
- when the customer writes on WhatsApp, the inbox shows the policy in the contact panel;
- a dashboard counts it, and Molly can answer questions about it in plain English.
Permissions work the same way everywhere. If a field is hidden from your role, it's hidden in the table, in search results, in reports and in API responses.
What a real workspace looks like#
The demo workspace behind our screenshots is an insurance and wealth brokerage called Insurance Saathi. It runs 19 objects, including policies, claims cases, commissions and mutual-fund investments. It also has 33 flows (renewals, claims, endorsements, onboarding, telecalling), 75 workflows and a team of advisors, claims executives and managers. Nothing in it is hard-coded for insurance: every object, field and stage was designed in the console, and yours will be too.
