Forms

Public forms that create records — with sections, typed fields and conditional branches.

A klerc form collects structured answers from customers and turns each submission into a record. Quote requests, service requests, claim intimations, feedback: anything you'd otherwise retype from an email.

Building a form#

Open Forms → New Form. Each form has four tabs:

TabWhat it's for
BuildSections and fields
FlowWhere each section leads, including branches
PreviewThe form as a customer sees it
SubmissionsEverything that's come in

A form is made of sections, and each section holds fields. Field types include short text, long text, phone, email, single select and currency. Mark a field Required to make it mandatory.

After each section, choose where the customer goes next with After this section, go to, and add conditional branches to send different answers down different paths. A health-insurance form might skip the vehicle questions entirely.

Example: a health insurance quote#

The demo brokerage's Get a health insurance quote form has two sections:

  1. Tell us about you — Full name (required), Mobile number (required), Email, City. Then it goes to the next section.
  2. What do you need — Product interested in (single select, required), Sum insured (Rs) (currency), How did you hear about us?, Anything we should know? (long text). Then it submits.

It has received 30 submissions. The same workspace runs Customer feedback, Service request and Claim intimation forms.

Publishing#

Use Share to get a link to send or embed, and Unpublish to take a form down. Published forms render on a fast public client, with captcha, origin allow-lists and submission limits available to keep spam out.

What happens on submit#

Each submission becomes a record in the object you mapped the form to, such as a new Lead. Its source is recorded as the form, so you can report on where leads come from. From there a workflow can take over: assign the lead to the least-busy advisor, send a WhatsApp welcome from an approved template, and create a task to call within the hour.

Through the API#

Forms live under /docs/api/forms:

  • list, read, create, update and delete forms;
  • POST /forms/{id}/publish and POST /forms/{id}/unpublish;
  • GET /forms/{id}/submissions, paged with limit and cursor.

Reading needs forms:view; changes need forms:manage.
